In 2008, Multi-Cultural Academy Charter School (MACS) was recognized by the School District of Philadelphia as a Best Practices School for its community partnership with the IAC. A public high school (Grades 9-12) in its eleventh year of operation, MACS provides a multi-cultural and safe environment where every child is given the opportunity to develop holistically and intellectually.
MACS has many of the best characteristics often attributed to exclusive private schools, including discipline, safety, small class size, a highly qualified teaching staff, and an orderly learning environment.
For the past 9 years, 100% of MACS seniors have graduated and been accepted to institutions of higher education.
MACS has made federal and state AYP benchmarks in 4 of the past 6 years. In 2004, MACS became the first charter high school in Pennsylvania to receive the Keystone Achievement Award from the Pennsylvania Secretary of Education.
